ECE Department has well equipped laboratories such as

  • NETWORK LABORATORY

The booming growth and developments in communication technology around the globe necessitates the need for budding communication Engineers to have a thorough understanding of networking concepts and topologies. Networks laboratory provides the platform for understanding the basics of networking concepts. This laboratory is equipped with 35 Pentium-4 systems loaded with networking simulator tools like NS2, OPNET and Local Area Network (LAN) trainer kit. With the help of these supporting equipments, students understand the IP addressing concepts and wireless standard protocols.

  • VLSI LABORATORY

The increasing demand and urge for portable and miniaturized electronic devices necessitate the need for learning VLSI technology and design of VLSI systems. To augment this necessity, VLSI laboratory is set up with 35 Pentium-4 systems having softwares like Xilinx & Modelsim for simulation and synthesis of VLSI circuits. The students are exposed to the front end design methodology with the help of Xilinx FPGA kits and are also trained in circuit level simulation using spice simulators like PSPICE & TSPICE.

  • MICROPROCESSORS & MICROCONTROLLERS LABORAT0RY

Our microprocessor & microcontroller laboratory is well equipped with twenty nine 8085 microprocessors, twenty two 8086 microprocessors and twenty two 8051 microcontrollers. Students execute many assembly language programs using these processors which help them to acquire strong fundamental knowledge. These also motivate the students to carry out innovative embedded projects. The students are also exposed to various interfacing techniques using Programmable Peripheral Interfaces like 8255, 8253, 8279, Analog-to-Digital Conversions & Digital-to-Analog Conversions using 8085 and 8086.

  • ELECTRONIC DEVICES & CIRCUITS LABORATRY

The electronic devices & circuits laboratory aims at providing the students with practical knowledge regarding the operation of the basic semiconductor devices such as diodes, Bi-polar junction transistors, Field Effect Transistors, Uni-Junction Transistors, Silicon Control Rectifiers, DIAC and TRAIC. The students are also exposed to the design of basic electronic circuits like amplifiers, oscillators and power supplies. The laboratory is equipped with ample monitoring equipments like cathode ray oscilloscopes, measuring meters like ammeters and voltmeters of various ranges and safe and reliable power supplies.

  • DIGITAL ELECTRONICS LABORATORY

The digital electronics laboratory is well established with digital trainer kits and various types of Integrated Circuit Chips. The students are trained to design different digital logic circuits which fall under two broad categories namely, combinational circuits and sequential circuits. The students are also encouraged to implement innovative digital projects using latest components available.

  • DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LABORATORY

The Digital Signal Processing laboratory is well equipped with thirty five HP Compaq Pentium 4 systems loaded with the latest version of MAT lab and C language. In this laboratory the students get introduced with the design of various signal processing algorithms, experiments and projects. This forms the basis for advanced work in DSP. The lab also has fifteen Texas DSP processor kits.

  • MICROWAVE & OPTICAL COMMUNICATION LABORATORY

The microwave & optical communication laboratory provides insight into microwave and optical transmission techniques. The laboratory is equipped with five X-band microwave benches using Reflex Klystron and Gunn Diode, Horn antenna setup, waveguide components, Klystron oscillators, Klystron power supplies, Gunn oscillators, VSWR meters and Antenna trainers with accessories. The optical trainer kits are used to make the students understand the principles of optical signal transmission and reception. The laboratory is also supported with Light Emitting Diode modules, Avalanche photodiodes, Optical power meters and power sources.

  • COMMUNICATION LABORATORY

The students are trained to carry out the experiments in basic modulation techniques including both analog and digital. The laboratory is equipped with sufficient number of analog and digital communication trainer kits to study the principles of AM transmission, super heterodyne AM reception, FM transmission and FM reception. The students also carry out experiments in digital modulation techniques.
